Diplomatic reception at the Carpathian National University on the occasion of Diplomat’s Day

Today, a diplomatic reception was held at Vasyl Stefanyk Carpathian National University on the occasion of Diplomat’s Day. The main highlight of the event was a charity auction, the funds from which were directed to support the Ukrainian military.

The event was attended by the rector of the university, Valentyna Yakubiv, the chairman of the university’s Academic Council, diplomat Ihor Tsependa, the dean of the Faculty of History, Political Science and International Relations Ihor Hurak, teachers, students, and stakeholders.

The event was initiated by the public organization “Young Diplomacy” in Ivano-Frankivsk, led by President Sofia Gladysheva.

Rector Valentyna Yakubiv noted that holding a charity auction is extremely important, because it is not only an opportunity to support the military, but also an example of solidarity of the university community and education of responsibility and social activism among students.

“The charity event was organized to support our defenders. Today, among our students there are many who defend Ukraine on the front lines. That is why we direct all charitable initiatives to help our military. I would also like to emphasize that a significant number of specialist diplomats work at the Carpathian National University. These are practitioners with extensive professional experience who today pass on their knowledge and skills to our students. It is extremely important for us to form a high-quality, conscious student – a future diplomat who will be able to worthily defend the interests of Ukraine in the international arena, represent it in the right light, and contribute to the development of international relations,” noted Valentyna Yakubiv.

The program was opened by a panel discussion on the topic “Eastern Europe after the Russian-Ukrainian War”. During the discussion, the participants analyzed geopolitical changes in the region, new challenges to security and stability, as well as the role of the international community in supporting Ukraine. Considerable attention was paid to the prospects for the development of diplomatic relations, the formation of new coalitions, and the strengthening of the positions of Ukrainian diplomats on the world stage.

The speakers shared their own experience in the field of international politics, discussed the importance of professional training for young professionals, and emphasized the need for active public participation in international processes.

The Chairman of the Academic Council, diplomat Ihor Tsependa, emphasized the importance of diplomacy as a tool for peaceful conflict resolution and strengthening Ukraine’s international authority, and also shared his own vision of the role of education in training future diplomats.

According to the organizers, the event brought together participants from different fields and became a platform for sharing experiences, professional development, and supporting Ukraine in difficult times.
