On October 1, we commemorate several significant events that are closely intertwined: the Feast of the Protection of the Blessed Virgin Mary, the Day of Defenders of Ukraine, and the Day of Ukrainian Cossacks. These are dates that unite spirituality, the power of tradition, and sacrifice for the sake of our future.
Today we thank all those who defend Ukraine. Among our defenders are students, graduates, and teachers of the Vasyl Stefanyk Carpathian National University. They prove that true patriotism is measured not by words, but by deeds.
We bow our heads with deep respect to the memory of those who gave their lives for independence and peace for our country. Their courage and sacrifice will forever remain in the hearts of the Ukrainian people.
Despite all the difficulties of war, we have no right to lose faith. Right now, each of us is making history – in education, scientific work, volunteering, or at the front.
Victory will surely come if we are united, strong, and steadfast in our desire to keep Ukraine free and independent.
We wish our defenders good health, strength of spirit and reliable rear. May the Most Holy Theotokos cover everyone with her omophorion, grant peace and protect from all evil. And may our Ukraine be reborn in the light of victory, prosperity and love.
