A practical workshop “Key Principles of Strategy in Higher Education” was held at the Vasyl Stefanyk Carpathian National University , dedicated to the strategic development of the university and the search for effective approaches to responding to modern challenges.
The event was hosted by Svitlana Kalashnikova , who focused the participants’ attention on the key principles and algorithms for forming a higher education institution’s strategy, as well as on the importance of a clear understanding of its uniqueness, mission, and values.

Representatives from different levels of the university community who passed the preliminary competitive selection process joined the workshop. The participants worked in four integrated teams:
- management team – university vice-rectors;
- faculty level – deans;
- administrative block — heads of structural units and departments;
- academic community – heads of departments, deputy deans, and teachers.
This format provided an opportunity to consider strategic planning issues from different managerial and academic perspectives. Participants analyzed the university’s internal and external environment, worked with strategic analytics tools, identified priorities, and sought practical solutions for institutional development.
During practical work, special attention was paid to the development of specific cases aimed at transforming the university and strengthening its position in the modern educational environment.
Over three hours of work were spent in an active format — with team discussions, analysis of practical situations, and development of own proposals. High involvement of participants and professional moderation by Svitlana Kalashnikova contributed to productive dialogue and exchange of ideas.
Holding such a workshop became an important stage of joint work on the strategic vision of the development of Carpathian University. After all, an effective strategy is formed not only at the level of management decisions, but also through the involvement of the academic and administrative community, joint determination of priorities, and everyone’s willingness to join in the changes.
Collaboration, open dialogue, and strategic vision are important components of the further development of Vasyl Stefanyk Carpathian National University.
