On August 24, Ukraine celebrates the 35th anniversary of the restoration of Independence — a significant date that embodies the Ukrainian people’s age-old desire for freedom, independence, and the right to create their own future.
Our Independence is not just a date on the calendar. It is the result of centuries of struggle by generations of Ukrainians who defended the right of our people to be free. It is our language and culture, history and traditions, our land and our common home.
Today, Ukraine is fighting for its freedom again. A full-scale war is underway, and the struggle for independence has become a daily reality for millions of Ukrainians. On the battlefield, our defenders are defending it, and everyone in their place is contributing to the common cause.
We thank our soldiers who courageously defend the state, protect Ukrainian cities and villages, and maintain defense for the future of Ukraine. We thank doctors and rescuers, volunteers and philanthropists, energy workers, educators, scientists, critical infrastructure workers, and every Ukrainian who continues to work, study, help, and support those who are fighting.
We remember all the Heroes and Heroines who gave their lives for the independence of Ukraine. Their sacrifice will forever remain in the history of our state and in the hearts of each of us.
Independence is our shared responsibility. It is an opportunity to determine the path of our state, develop education and science, preserve Ukrainian culture, educate new generations, and build a country that we can be proud of.
May our unity be stronger than any trials, our faith unbreakable, and our desire for freedom unwavering.
We wish Ukraine peace, Victory, restoration and prosperity!
May the blue-and-yellow flag always fly over our state, and may the Ukrainian land remain free, independent, and sovereign.
Happy Independence Day of Ukraine!
Glory to Ukraine!
