Representatives of the Vasyl Stefanyk Carpathian National University – Assistant Professor, Senior Laboratory Assistant of the Department of International Relations of the Faculty of History, Political Science and International Relations Yuliya Bogachyk-Didovych , Assistant Professor of the Department of Foreign Languages and Translation of the Faculty of History, Political Science and International Relations Yana Kotnevych , and Associate Professor of the Department of Social Pedagogy and Social Work of the Faculty of Pedagogy Natalia Sabat – participated in the XXXVI Eastern Summer School of the University of Warsaw , which took place from June 29 to July 13, 2026 .
The Study of Eastern Europe at the University of Warsaw is one of the most prestigious international academic projects, bringing together young scholars and researchers from Central and Eastern Europe. Its program combines lectures by leading world scholars, interdisciplinary seminars, academic discussions, and participation in the Warsaw East European Conference .
The participants listened to lectures by Professor Magdalena Dembińska (Université de Montréal), Professor Norman Naimark (Stanford University), Professor Maren Reger (University of Leipzig), Professors Beata Halicka , Adam Bobryk and other renowned scholars. The main topics were international politics, European integration, security, historical memory, cultural heritage and modern social transformations.
Within the framework of interdisciplinary seminars, university representatives presented the results of their own research on the migration policy of the European Union, the literary heritage of Bruno Schulz and its cultural impact on Central and Eastern Europe, as well as topical issues of socio-pedagogical research. The presentation of the reports became an opportunity for professional discussion, exchange of experience and establishment of new international scientific contacts.
In addition to the educational program, the participants visited the Warsaw University Museum , the Warsaw University Library , the Museum of Modern Art , the Museum of the History of Warsaw , and also took study trips to Poznań and Kazimierz Dolny .
The visit to Poznań provided an opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of the origins of Polish statehood, the processes of political identity formation, and the country’s historical heritage. Particular attention was paid to the interconnection of historical processes with contemporary political and social transformations in Central and Eastern Europe.
During the study trip to Kazimierz Dolny, participants learned about the city’s architectural heritage, its multicultural history, and its experience in preserving its historic environment. The city became an example of how cultural heritage contributes to the development of international cooperation, tourism, and intercultural dialogue.
Study visits became an important practical addition to the academic program of the Summer School, allowing to combine theoretical knowledge with direct acquaintance with the cultural and historical heritage of Poland.
The participation of representatives of the Vasyl Stefanyk Carpathian National University in the XXXVI Eastern Summer School of the University of Warsaw contributed to professional development, expansion of international academic cooperation, establishment of new scientific contacts and exchange of experience with researchers from different countries. Such international programs strengthen the integration of the university into the European educational and scientific space.
