The rector of the Vasyl Stefanyk Carpathian National University, Valentyna Yakubiv, took part in the educational conference “August 2026”, which this year is held under the slogan “Education is Everyone’s Business” .
The event brought together representatives of state authorities, heads of educational institutions, teachers, scientists, community representatives, and other participants in the educational process for professional dialogue, discussion of current challenges, and formation of a common vision for the development of Ukrainian education.
The First Lady of Ukraine Olena Zelenska and the Prime Minister of Ukraine Serhiy Koretsky addressed the participants with welcoming words. In their speeches, they emphasized the importance of shared responsibility for the development of education and the creation of conditions for high-quality learning, professional development, and well-being of participants in the educational process.
The Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine, Andriy Butenko, also outlined important focuses on the development of Ukrainian education. According to him, the results of reforms should be assessed not by the number of adopted administrative decisions, but by real changes in the educational environment – improving the working conditions of teachers, expanding opportunities for students, ensuring their safety, development, and well-being.
During the conference, participants discussed current priorities of educational policy, challenges facing the education system in times of war, as well as ways to further improve the quality of education at all levels.
“Each of our decisions should not be change for the sake of change, but a concrete step towards high-quality and modern education, centered on the person,” noted Valentyna Yakubiv.
According to the rector, the slogan of the conference “Education is Everyone’s Business” reflects the need to unite the efforts of the state, educators, parents, communities, business, and the entire society. After all, quality education is formed not only in classrooms – it depends on the decisions that are made, the values that are passed on to the younger generation, the opportunities that are created, and the support of those who teach and learn.
The participation of the leadership of the Carpathian National University in such professional discussions contributes to the exchange of experience, taking into account modern educational trends, and the search for effective solutions for the further development of the university.
A strong education begins with everyone’s daily participation — and it is through joint efforts that an educational environment is formed that is able to meet the challenges of today and the needs of the future.
