Vasyl Stefanyk Carpathian National University ranked 7th in the academic ranking of higher education institutions of Ukraine “Top-200 Ukraine 2026”, moving up one position compared to last year.
This result testifies to the consistent strengthening of the university’s position among the leading higher education institutions of Ukraine and confirms the effectiveness of systematic work in the areas of education, science, international activities, innovations, sustainable development, and interaction with society.
The “Top 200 Ukraine” rating is formed annually by the Center for International Projects “Euroeducation” in accordance with the recommendations of the international expert community IREG Observatory on Academic Ranking and Excellence. The rating methodology is based on a comprehensive assessment of the activities of universities and takes into account both international and national indicators.
In 2026, the assessment was carried out according to ten indicators, including the representation of universities in the international rankings Times Higher Education World University Rankings, Scopus, SCImago Institutions Rankings, as well as the effectiveness of participation in scientific project competitions, the results of accreditation examinations by the National Academy of Higher Education, the number of patents obtained, and the indicators of the admission campaign.
The improvement of Carpathian University’s position in the ranking is the result of the joint work of the university community – academic staff, researchers, students, administrative departments and partners. The university continues to develop research infrastructure, support international cooperation, strengthen the quality of educational programs, open science, project activities and sustainable development practices.
Entering the top ten of the “Top 200 Ukraine 2026” rating and further growth in positions is an important confirmation of the strategic course of Vasyl Stefanyk Carpathian National University towards the formation of a modern, open, research and competitive university of the European level.
